Sunday Mornings at CWR

Alexandre Marr plays weekly in Sunday morning service at Church of the Western Reserve. As Music Director, Alexandre has built an impressive program featuring 3 professional vocalists, a choir with over 20 singers, a smaller semi-professional vocal ensemble, and a handbell choir open to any individual with an interest in participating either regularly or on occasion.

All are invited to attend Sunday service at Church of the Western Reserve at 10:30am for high caliber music and sermons from the pulpit of Dr. Sandy Seaton-Todd. Church of the Western Reserve is located at 30500 Fairmount Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44124.

CWR Concert Series | The Cabaret Project

Alexandre Marr and Merissa Coleman present experts from the past 2 years of The Cabaret Project alongside 10 talented Northeast Ohio vocalists on the Church of the Western Reserve Concert Series. Selections are stripped down, accompanied by only piano and auxiliary percussion for an intimate sanctuary setting.

Alexandre Marr performs beloved piano solo works of 20th century composers Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Frédéric Chopin on the Church of the Western Reserve Concert Series. Selections include works from Liszt’s Harmonies poétiques et religieuses, Chopin’s Ballade in G minor, and Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux. Cellist Greg Fiocca performs Bloch's Prayer, soprano Heidi Swinford performs Debussy's Beau Soir, and soprano Merissa Coleman performs Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise accompanied by Alexandre.

This concert is free of charge, however an offering will be taken following the performance. Seating begins at 6:30pm, with a 7pm performance. Church of the Western Reserve is located at 30500 Fairmount Boulevard, Cleveland, OH 44124.

Cabaret for a Cure | A Benefit for Molly Oldham

Acclaimed singer and vocal coach Natalie Weiss headlines an evening of music accompanied/produced by Akron pianist Alexandre Marr. The concert will feature out of town and local artists/ensembles.

Allen Cruz, Amy Bransky, Brandy Kay Riha, Christine Stewart, Dominic Iudiciani, Brianna Swinford, Desirée Hargrave, Dominic Iudiciani, Francine Parr, Grant Campbell, Heidi Swinford, James Major Burns, Josh Budd, Joshua Johnson, Kathy Sees, Kirsten Forshew, Kathleen Pellington, Laura Williams, Mary Ober, Merissa Coleman, Olivia Wimberly, Pat Harris, Rebecca Brown, Ronnie Dailey, Ryan Routh, Tiffany Bauman, Tiffany Magill, Tim Carson, Tim Harkleroad, Trevail Smith, Valerie Stewart, My Drunkin Uncle, Temple Brothers Music, Akron’s own ETC All-American, Rouge, Main Street show choirs and others alongside a full band performing modern, theatrical, and Broadway repertoire including selections from Dear Evan Hansen, Next to Normal, The Greatest Showman, Anastasia, Hamilton, and more.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit Molly Oldham, a NE Ohio musical theatre performer who recently underwent surgery to have a brain tumor removed just before leaving for her freshman year of college only to find it was Anaplastic Ependymoma, a rare cancer with only about 300 cases diagnosed every year. Molly is 18 years old and surrounded by family and friends who are committed to help her beat this cancer. She plans to attend University of North Carolina Greensboro for an exclusive musical theatre program where only 7 applicants were accepted this year. The school is holding her place in the program.

The Cabaret Project | HUNGERLUST

Co-Producers/Directors Alexandre Marr and Merissa Coleman debut The Cabaret Project at NightTown for with HUNGERLUST on Friday, October 11th. Featuring over 20 Northeast Ohio vocalists backed with a full band, HUNGERLUST encapsulates a range of musical aesthetics with subject matter exploring the impulses, wild desires, instincts, and natural tendencies of human beings. Modern repertoire will be performed including selections from Beyonce, Florence + the Machine, Lady Gaga, and Kimbra as well as classic selections from Nina Simone, Stephen Sondheim, and more. The Cabaret Project is thrilled to be continuing its mission of bringing a live cabaret scene to Northeast Ohio.

The Cabaret Project | STORM

Co-Producers/Directors Alexandre Marr and Merissa Coleman return to BLU Jazz downtown Akron for the 3rd annual performance of The Cabaret Project Saturday, December 28th. Since its opening in recent years, BLU Jazz has come into the spotlight as a nationally recognized jazz venue. Incredible creole-inspired cuisine available upstairs at BLU Plate and a full service cocktail bar in the performance space make for a complete night out. Additional details, including audition information, will be available here soon.
