TRIO NOIR Debut Recital

Updated: Jan 19

TRIO NOIR is excited to kick off 2024 with a program of Claude Debussy and Rebecca Clarke on January 14th at Church Of The Western Reserve in Pepper Pike! As always, programs on the CWR Concert Series are free and open to the public!

Those of you unfamiliar with Clarke's work will love the juxtaposition of Debussy – Clarke brings to the table a sense of quasi impressionism from the perspective of a female composer who was grossly under-appreciated in her lifetime due solely to her gender. Clarke operated under the pseudonym "Anthony Trent" at points in her career to gain validation for her masterful compositions. Her Piano Trio represents Clarke at the height of her compositional prowess.

The program's first half explores Debussy at the beginning and literal end of his compositional career – two total different words of color and harmonic language.

See you January 14th at 4pm at CWR!
